Disability Rights Iowa (DRI) is Iowa's federally mandated Protection and Advocacy agency, headquartered in Des Moines. DRI holds federal access authority to monitor and investigate any facility that serves people with disabilities in Iowa, and provides legal and advocacy services to Iowans with a wide range of disabilities regardless of income.
What They Do
DRI offers free legal representation, informal advocacy, information and referral, and self-advocacy support. Core service areas include ADA and Section 504 enforcement, special education representation, housing discrimination, disability benefits, community integration, and investigation of abuse and neglect in care settings. DRI serves both children and adults.
