About

Disability Rights Oregon (DRO) is a non-profit organisation and Oregon's federally mandated protection and advocacy (P&A) agency. Based in Portland and part of the National Disability Rights Network, DRO has defended the rights of Oregonians with disabilities for decades through legal action and systems advocacy.

What They Do

DRO provides free information and referrals on disability-related rights, investigates reports of abuse and neglect in residential and institutional settings, monitors conditions in care facilities, and engages in legislative advocacy. Legal representation is available in priority cases involving civil rights and access violations.

Who They Serve

DRO serves Oregonians of all ages with any type of disability — physical, psychiatric, intellectual, sensory, or chronic — with particular emphasis on protecting those who are vulnerable to abuse, neglect, or rights violations in institutional or community settings.
