Disability Rights Washington (DRW) is the designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency for Washington state and a member of the National Disability Rights Network. A private nonprofit headquartered in Seattle, DRW operates statewide and centres its mission on dignity, equality, and self-determination for disabled Washingtonians.
What They Do
DRW provides free advocacy services including disability rights information and referrals, problem-solving guidance, legal representation, community education and training, and investigation of abuse and neglect. DRW also pursues legislative advocacy and systemic reform on issues such as voting rights, mental health services, and the harms of solitary confinement — for example, partnering with the Survivors Opposing Solitary Coalition on public awareness campaigns.

People with any disability in Washington state, with priority given to individuals facing the most serious rights violations — including those in state psychiatric facilities, institutional settings, or crisis circumstances.
