About

DPI North America and the Caribbean (DPI NAC) is the regional wing of Disabled Peoples' International, one of the world's first cross-disability global organisations of persons with disabilities, founded in 1981. The regional network is headquartered at Herbert's Road, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and brings together 16 member organisations with one associate member across the North American and Caribbean region.

What They Do

DPI NAC promotes the human rights of persons with disabilities through advocacy, capacity building, and cross-national solidarity. It connects member national assemblies to DPI's global frameworks, supports grassroots disability-led organisations, and raises regional voices at international bodies including the United Nations, where DPI holds special consultative status with ECOSOC.

Who They Serve

Persons with all types of disability across North America and the Caribbean, with particular focus on self-advocacy, disabled women's leadership, and the rights of persons with disabilities in developing Caribbean nations.
