About
The Fédération Burkinabè des Associations pour la Promotion des Personnes Handicapées (FEBAH) was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Ouagadougou. It is the primary national federation for persons with disabilities in Burkina Faso, bringing together more than 300 member organisations grouped by disability category — physical-motor, visual, auditory, intellectual-psychosocial, albinism, and dwarfism — across decentralised regional and provincial coordinations.
What They Do
FEBAH advocates for the development and application of national disability legislation and monitors its implementation at all levels of government. The federation participates in national policy design, represents Burkinabè DPOs in international forums such as the African Disability Forum, and collaborates with donors and development partners on inclusive programmes. FEBAH has engaged the Zero Project and other global initiatives to document good practices in accessible formats.
Who They Serve
FEBAH represents persons with all disability types across Burkina Faso, with a functional headquarters, 13 regional branches, and 45 provincial branches reaching all corners of the country. Its work particularly benefits adults with disabilities who depend on the federation for legal advocacy and access to government services.
