About

FECONORI (Federación Nicaragüense de Asociaciones de Personas con Discapacidad) was established in 1994 and granted legal status by the National Assembly under Decree No. 20472. It brings together 23 member organisations of persons with disabilities across Nicaragua, with a General Assembly of 14 associations and an elected Board of Directors.

What They Do

FECONORI promotes, coordinates, and strengthens joint advocacy actions among member organisations on eight pillars: accessibility, employability, health, education, social care, protection of women and children with disabilities, disaster preparedness, and institutional support. The federation advocates for legislative change, conducts capacity-building workshops, and publishes news and resources through its website.

Who They Serve

FECONORI serves Nicaraguans with all types of disabilities through its 23 member associations, with particular attention to gender equity, rural coverage, and the rights of women and children with disabilities.
