About

FISH (Federazione Italiana per i diritti delle persone con disabilità e famiglie) was founded in Rome in 1994 and is one of the two principal cross-disability federations in Italy. Now operating as FISH Ets, it is a constituent member of the Italian Disability Forum (FID), through which it represents Italy within the European Disability Forum (EDF) and in UN CRPD processes.

What They Do

FISH conducts advocacy campaigns, monitors the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Italy, and coordinates national responses to legislation affecting disabled people. It publishes policy papers, promotes the social model of disability in Italian public discourse, and supports member organisations with legal and strategic guidance.

Who They Serve

FISH serves people with all types of disabilities — physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychic — along with their families and advocacy professionals across Italy.
