Great Lakes ADA Center
A regional hub of the ADA National Network housed at the University of Illinois Chicago, providing training, technical assistance, and information on the Americans with Disabilities Act. It serves Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin through customised guidance for businesses, governments, and disability advocates.
About
The Great Lakes ADA Center is one of ten regional centres in the ADA National Network, established under federal authority to support implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act across six Midwest states. It is a programme of the Department of Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois Chicago.
What They Do
The Centre delivers customised training for employers, government agencies, and advocacy organisations; provides expert technical assistance on ADA compliance questions; and disseminates up-to-date guidance on accessible information technology, physical access, employment, and public services. It operates state-level ADA affiliates in each of its six states.
Who They Serve
Businesses, state and local governments, schools, healthcare providers, and disability rights advocates across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin — as well as individuals with disabilities seeking to understand their legal rights.
