Independent Living Center of Mobile
The Independent Living Center of Mobile is a consumer-controlled, cross-disability nonprofit that empowers people with disabilities to achieve maximum independence across 16 counties in southwest Alabama. Core services include peer support, independent living skills training, advocacy, information and referral, and transition support.

The Independent Living Center of Mobile (ILC Mobile) is a federally funded Centre for Independent Living (CIL) built on the philosophy of consumer self-empowerment. Located in Mobile, it is one of Alabama's CILs and serves a 16-county region stretching across southwest Alabama.
What They Do
ILC Mobile provides information and referral, individual and systems advocacy, independent living skills training, peer support and mentoring, and transition services for people moving from institutions or nursing homes to community settings. The centre also connects individuals with assistive technology resources and employment support.

ILC Mobile serves adults and youth with any physical, intellectual, or significant disability living in Mobile, Baldwin, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Covington, Escambia, Geneva, Marengo, Monroe, Sumter, Washington, Wilcox, Coffee, Crenshaw, and Conecuh counties in Alabama.
