A free statewide information and referral service operated by the University of Iowa that connects Iowans with disabilities, older adults, and caregivers to thousands of local, state, and national programmes and services. Iowa Compass can be reached by phone, email, text, or online search.
About
Iowa Compass is a programme of the Center for Disabilities and Development at the University of Iowa Health Care, serving as Iowa's primary disability resource database and call centre. It is supported in part through the federal Administration for Community Living and works in close partnership with Iowa's Aging and Disability Resource Centers.
What They Do
Iowa Compass maintains a searchable database of thousands of programmes serving people with disabilities and complex health needs across Iowa. Trained information specialists answer calls, emails, texts, and chat messages to help individuals find services for employment, housing, health care, assistive technology, transportation, and more.
