Mississippi Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities(MSCCD)
The Mississippi Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities is a private, statewide cross-disability nonprofit founded in 1989 by Mississippians with disabilities and their families to expand opportunities and enhance quality of life for people with disabilities across the state. MSCCD provides legislative advocacy, ADA and IDEA training, information and referral, and peer support for systemic change.

Founded in 1989 and headquartered at 2 Old River Place in Jackson, MS, the Mississippi Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities (MSCCD) is a cross-disability organisation governed by and for Mississippians with disabilities. MSCCD is a member-driven organisation that represents children, youth, and adults with disabilities of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds statewide.
What They Do
MSCCD provides legislative and public policy advocacy, promotes system change and consumer control over disability services, delivers training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), provides Information and Referral assistance, and coordinates the Safe Kids Campaign to reduce preventable injuries. The organisation also offers technical assistance on ADA compliance to businesses and government entities.
Who They Serve
MSCCD serves Mississippians with disabilities of all types and their families, regardless of age, race, gender, or economic status. The coalition functions as a peer advocacy network where people with disabilities support one another and collectively advocate for systemic change across Mississippi.
