About

Národní rada osob se zdravotním postižením ČR (NRZP), the Czech National Disability Council, was established in 2000 in Prague. It unifies member organisations covering all disability types and has established Regional Disability Councils (RDCs) in each region of the Czech Republic. NRZP is the Czech member of the European Disability Forum (EDF).

What They Do

NRZP advises the Czech Government's Board for People with Disabilities on systemic policy, advocates for legislative reform, organises national and regional seminars and conferences, and publishes technical guides on disability law and rights. Since 2006 it has run public-awareness programmes on communicating with people with disabilities.

Who They Serve

NRZP advocates on behalf of more than 250,000 people with disabilities in the Czech Republic, regardless of impairment type. Its Regional Disability Councils extend this advocacy to local and regional level across the country.
