ONG-AID is a Guinean NGO established in 2004 and accredited to the UN Conference of States Parties to the CRPD, committed to fighting inequality and poverty among vulnerable populations including persons with disabilities, women, children, and youth. It implements community-based development and rights-promotion programmes across Guinea.
About
ONG-AID (Association d'appui aux Initiatives de Développement) was founded on 9 December 2004, originally responding to violence and displacement caused by rebel incursions into Guinea's forest region. It grew into a national NGO with programmes across multiple vulnerable population groups, earning accreditation to the UN Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD CoSP).
What They Do
ONG-AID implements community development programmes targeting persons with disabilities, women, children, and youth in poverty. Activities include disability rights awareness, economic empowerment initiatives, and social inclusion projects. The organisation works with government bodies and international partners to translate CRPD obligations into on-the-ground change in Guinea.
Who They Serve
Persons with disabilities throughout Guinea, alongside other marginalised groups including women, children, and youth — with a particular historical focus on communities affected by conflict in Guinea's Forest Region.
