Pacific Disability Forum(PDF)

A regional disabled peoples' organisation advocating for inclusion and human rights across 22 Pacific Island countries and territories. Formally inaugurated in 2004 and registered in Fiji, it represents over 71 member organisations spanning the Pacific.

About

The Pacific Disability Forum (PDF) was established in December 2002 and formally inaugurated in July 2004, becoming registered in Fiji in 2007. It is the leading regional voice for persons with disabilities in the Pacific, guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

What They Do

PDF builds the capacity of member disabled peoples' organisations, advocates at regional and international levels for CRPD implementation, and publishes guidance on disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction, women's rights, and development. It works in partnership with Pacific Island governments, the Pacific Islands Forum, and UN agencies.

Who They Serve

PDF represents persons with all types of disabilities across 22 Pacific Island Countries and Territories, with a focus on strengthening local and national DPOs so communities can advocate for themselves.
