Polish Disability Forum(PFON)
The Polish Disability Forum (PFON) is Poland's national public-benefit umbrella organisation for people with disabilities, operating since 2003 and a member of the European Disability Forum since 2004. Its mission is to unite resources for the full realisation of disability rights, equal opportunities, and human dignity across Poland.
About
Polskie Forum Osób z Niepełnosprawnościami (PFON), the Polish Disability Forum, was founded in May 2003 in Warsaw as a non-profit public-benefit organisation. It has been a member of the European Disability Forum (EDF) since 2004 and is a recognised civil-society partner in Polish disability policy.
What They Do
PFON advocates in the Polish parliament and with government on disability rights, works to advance implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (ratified by Poland in 2012), monitors proposed legislation for CRPD compliance, and runs public-education campaigns against discrimination of people with disabilities.
Who They Serve
PFON serves people with all types of disabilities in Poland — estimated at over four million people — through its member organisations and broader coalition work, with particular focus on employment, independent living, and anti-discrimination.
