Southern Nevada Centers for Independent Living(SNCIL)
Southern Nevada Centers for Independent Living is a nonprofit Center for Independent Living serving Clark County residents with significant disabilities since 1984. Based in Las Vegas, SNCIL empowers individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence through peer counseling, skills training, advocacy, and community integration services.
About
SNCIL has operated in Southern Nevada since 1984, becoming a stand-alone federally funded Center for Independent Living in 1995. As a consumer-controlled organization, SNCIL is governed by people with disabilities and is dedicated to removing barriers that prevent people with significant disabilities from living independently in their families, communities, and workplaces.
What They Do
SNCIL provides information and referral, individual and systems advocacy, independent living skills training, peer counseling, benefits counseling, adaptive equipment assistance, accessible housing support, transportation guidance, and ADA technical assistance for Clark County businesses and government agencies.
Who They Serve
People of all ages with permanent, significant disabilities living in Clark County, Nevada — particularly those facing barriers to independent living in their families, communities, or employment settings. Services are provided free of charge.
