The Union of Disabled People in Bulgaria (UDPB) was established on 15 December 1989 and is the largest non-governmental disability organisation in Bulgaria. It unites 319 basic organisations and associations in 203 municipalities, with more than 41,253 direct individual members and over 72,000 members including associates. UDPB is recognised as a representative organisation at national level and is a member of the European Disability Forum.

What They Do

UDPB advocates for full social integration of persons with disabilities, participates in the government's National Council for Rehabilitation and Social Integration, and provides input on disability-related legislation. The union maintains regional work clubs, runs employment support initiatives, and cooperates with local authorities and employers to improve conditions for people with disabilities.
