About this resource

About

Accessible College was founded by Annie Tulkin, a nationally recognised expert in college transitions for students with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions. The platform bridges the significant gap between the IDEA protections students have in K–12 and the ADA/Section 504 framework that governs college accommodations.

What It Does

The platform publishes practical guides and blog posts on topics including requesting accommodations, wheelchair user college preparation, managing personal care attendant (PCA) services on campus, and comparing campus accessibility using the Johns Hopkins University Disability Inclusion Dashboard. Personalised one-on-one transition coaching is also available.

Who It Helps

High school and college students with physical disabilities, mobility impairments, and chronic health conditions, along with their parents and high school counsellors, who need practical and expert guidance on disabled college life that goes beyond what standard disability services offices provide.
