About this resource

About

Founded in 1977, AHEAD has championed access and inclusion in post-secondary settings for nearly five decades. Its membership spans disability resource professionals, ADA coordinators, assistive technology specialists, faculty, and student affairs staff at colleges and universities worldwide.

What It Does

AHEAD delivers professional development through its annual conference, the Accessing Higher Ground technology event, webinars, publications, and consultation services. It maintains a free resource library covering legal requirements, universal design, accommodation strategies, and campus climate, and disseminates research on disability in higher education through its HUB newsletter and publications.

Who It Helps

Disability services coordinators, ADA and Section 504 officers, faculty, and institutional administrators at higher-education institutions, as well as college students with disabilities who benefit from the improved accommodation practices and advocacy that AHEAD promotes on campuses.
