About this resource

About

APSE (Association of People Supporting Employment First) was founded to advance Employment First policy and practice across the country. It serves as a professional network and advocacy body for people with disabilities, family members, employment support professionals, and policymakers who believe that everyone can work given the right supports.

What It Does

APSE offers professional development events, an annual national conference, policy advocacy resources, a job board for employment professionals, and the CESP certification. The Credentialed Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and is the recognised standard for job coaches, job developers, transition employment specialists, and supported employment consultants.

Who It Helps

People with disabilities pursuing employment, self-advocates, family members, and professionals — particularly job coaches and VR counsellors — who provide supported employment services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and psychiatric disabilities.
