The Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability (EARN) is fully funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy through a cooperative agreement with Cornell University's Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability. It serves as the primary technical assistance center for employers building disability-inclusive workplaces.
AskEARN offers a comprehensive online library covering disability-inclusive recruiting strategies, workplace accommodation policy templates, return-to-work program design, disability self-identification practices, and Section 503 federal contractor compliance. Free consulting services are available by phone through the 1-855-ASK-EARN helpline for employers of any size, and all online resources are publicly accessible.
While AskEARN's primary audience is HR professionals and hiring managers, the resource ultimately benefits job seekers and employees with any type of disability by expanding the pool of disability-inclusive employers. Workers can use the site's employer toolkits and best-practice guides to research inclusion practices at prospective employers and prepare informed conversations about workplace accommodation requests.
