About this resource

About

Learn the Signs. Act Early. is a campaign by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), developed in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics, to improve early identification of developmental delays and disabilities including autism spectrum disorder. Materials are freely available in multiple languages for parents, providers, and early childhood programmes nationwide.

What It Does

The campaign provides downloadable milestone checklists for ages 2 months through 5 years, parent tip sheets, healthcare provider toolkits, and the free CDC Milestone Tracker mobile app for iOS and Android. The app allows caregivers to add multiple children, log milestones with photos, adjust checklists for prematurity, and generate a shareable PDF summary to bring to well-child visits.

Who It Helps

Parents, grandparents, foster caregivers, child care providers, and healthcare professionals who monitor the development of infants and young children, particularly those who may be at risk for developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, or other early childhood disabilities.
