About this resource

About

The CDC Milestone Tracker is part of the agency's "Learn the Signs. Act Early." campaign, designed to help families monitor development and identify concerns early. The milestone checklists were updated in 2022 in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics, reflecting the latest developmental research across nine age intervals.

What It Does

The app provides illustrated developmental milestone checklists, milestone photos and videos to show what skills look like in action, a well-visit snapshot tool, appointment reminders, and a shareable PDF summary to bring to doctor appointments. When developmental concerns arise, the app links families directly to their state's early intervention programme for a free evaluation.

Who It Helps

Parents and caregivers of all young children — particularly those with developmental concerns — as well as health visitors, paediatricians, and early childhood educators who use the checklists as a first-pass developmental monitoring tool at well-child visits.
