About this resource

About

Founded in 1992 at the University of Washington, the DO-IT Center's mission is to increase the successful participation of people with disabilities in postsecondary education and STEM fields. Programmes supported by the National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Education have achieved above-national-average STEM college completion rates among participants with disabilities.

What It Does

DO-IT runs AccessSTEM for STEM pathways, AccessComputing for computer science, AccessCollege for disability services professionals, and an online Knowledge Base — a free, searchable collection of articles and videos on disability, accessible technology, and higher education. Online Communities of Practice connect students with peer mentors and disability resource professionals across the country.

Who It Helps

High school and college students with any disability pursuing STEM or computing fields, educators designing accessible science and engineering courses, and employers seeking to recruit graduates with disabilities.
