About

DO-IT is a collaboration of UW Information Technology and the Colleges of Engineering and Education, operating since 1992. It has received the 2025 WAPED Achievement Award for its longstanding work connecting disabled students to STEM pathways.

What It Does

DO-IT runs AccessSTEM, AccessComputing, and AccessCareers programmes that provide mentoring connections, knowledge bases, and guidance on assistive technology for STEM environments. It also trains faculty on universal design of instruction and making labs and field experiences accessible to students with disabilities.

Who It Helps

Students with any disability pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, as well as disability services professionals and faculty seeking practical tools and frameworks for accessible STEM education.
