About this resource

About

The National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes (NDC) is funded by the US Department of Education and housed at the University of Texas at Austin. It produces research, training materials, and free downloadable guides aimed at improving post-secondary success rates for deaf students. All resources are free and openly accessible.

What It Does

The NDC website provides comprehensive guides on selecting captioning services — including CART, C-Print, and TypeWell — understanding accommodation rights under Section 504 and the ADA, and collaborating with campus Disability Services Offices. It also publishes national data reports on deaf student enrollment, graduation rates, and workforce outcomes, and offers professional development resources for educators and disability service providers.

Who It Helps

Deaf and hard-of-hearing students navigating college or vocational training, as well as disability services staff, faculty, vocational rehabilitation counsellors, and families supporting students transitioning from high school to higher education.
