NCCSD is a federally funded project of the U.S. Department of Education under the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), hosted by the Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota. It operates in partnership with the DO-IT Center at the University of Washington and AHEAD, and is the only national U.S. centre serving students with any type of disability across all types of postsecondary programmes, including Career and Technical Education (CTE).
NCCSD maintains a free online resource clearinghouse covering topics such as paying for college, working with Disability Services Offices (DSOs), planning inclusive campus events, and understanding accommodation rights. It also hosts the Campus Disability Resource (CeDaR) database — a searchable directory of disability-related services at nearly every U.S. degree-granting institution — and answers questions from students, families, and professionals nationwide.
Current and prospective college students with any disability type, their families, disability service office professionals seeking resources and peer connections, and higher education administrators developing accessible campus policies.
