by University of Minnesota — Institute on Community Integration
The National Center for College Students with Disabilities (NCCSD) is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and operated by the University of Minnesota's Institute on Community Integration in partnership with AHEAD. As the sole federally funded clearinghouse focused entirely on college students with disabilities, NCCSD serves a unique and critical role in the higher education accessibility landscape.
NCCSD maintains the Campus Disability Resource (CeDaR) database, cataloguing disability services information from degree-granting institutions across the United States. It provides training handbooks and webinars for students on navigating accommodation requests, understanding their legal rights, and solving problems within the college system. The centre also supports the Disability Rights, Education, Activism, and Mentoring (DREAM) programme and publishes guidance for students at every stage of their college journey.
NCCSD directly serves prospective and current college students with any disability type, including graduate students and part-time enrolees. Its resources are also valuable for parents, high school transition counsellors, and disability services professionals seeking institution-specific information.
