by University of Minnesota / U.S. Department of Education
Established in December 2015 through the U.S. Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), the NCCSD is housed at the Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota in partnership with AHEAD. It is the only federal centre whose mission focuses exclusively on students with disabilities in higher education.
The NCCSD Clearinghouse organises research, statistics, and practical guides by audience — future students, current students, faculty, parents, Vocational Rehabilitation counsellors, and administrators. The CEDAR Database contains contact information for disability services providers at nearly every degree-granting college and university in the U.S., making it easy to find the right office before or after enrolment. NCCSD also publishes data on college students with disabilities and informs federal policy through ongoing research.
College students with any disability, prospective students and their families, K–12 transition coordinators, vocational rehabilitation counsellors, and higher education faculty and staff.
