About this resource

About

NTACT:C (the National Technical Assistance Center on Transition: The Collaborative) is co-funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) and the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). It is the primary federal resource for secondary transition evidence-based practice and has supported transition professionals nationwide since 2002.

What It Does

NTACT:C's website (transitionta.org) publishes evidence-based and promising practices for transition planning, professional development webinars, and state-by-state data on post-school outcomes. It supports Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) implementation, Individual Transition Plan (ITP) development, and coordination between school systems and VR agencies for students aged 14–21.

Who It Helps

Special education teachers, transition coordinators, VR counselors, school administrators, and state agency staff who support students with disabilities in planning for postsecondary education, employment, and independent living. Parents and students can also access NTACT:C resources to understand their transition rights and options under IDEA and the Rehabilitation Act.
