About this resource

About

Project ImPACT (Improving Parents As Communication Teachers) was developed through research with hundreds of families and is recognised as one of the most effective parent coaching programmes for young children with autism and related social communication delays. Classified as a Naturalistic Developmental Behavioural Intervention (NDBI), it has been adopted by clinics and early intervention programmes across the United States and internationally.

What It Does

The programme teaches parents the F.A.C.T.S. framework — practical strategies for fostering social engagement, language, imitation, and play — which families embed into everyday routines such as mealtimes, bath time, and outdoor play. A structured sequence of group lessons and individual hands-on coaching sessions with a trained provider builds parent confidence and consistency. The project-impact.org website provides free programme overviews, research summaries, and an introductory online module; full parent programmes are available through certified providers.

Who It Helps

Parents and primary caregivers of children aged 2–6 with autism, social communication delays, or related developmental differences. Available through certified providers at early intervention programmes and clinics in the US and internationally.
