About this resource

About

Managed jointly by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and the U.S. Department of Defense, the Workforce Recruitment Program has operated for over 30 years and is recognised by the Office of Personnel Management as a model strategy for federal agencies recruiting people with disabilities.

What It Does

Each autumn, students apply through a campus WRP coordinator, and their profiles are compiled into a searchable database available to hundreds of federal agencies and private employers. Participating students can be hired directly into temporary or permanent positions under Schedule A authority. Campus coordinators at participating colleges guide students through the application and help match them to opportunities.

Who It Helps

College students and recent graduates with physical, sensory, cognitive, psychiatric, or other disabilities who are seeking internships or entry-level federal and private-sector employment in the United States.
