About this resource

About

The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) has been placing college students and recent graduates with disabilities in federal government roles since 1995. Co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and the Department of Defense, WRP fast-tracks candidates through Schedule A hiring authority, allowing agencies to hire without a competitive examination process.

What It Does

Students apply each autumn through their campus disability services office, complete a structured interview with a WRP recruiter, and are added to a searchable talent database that federal hiring managers use to recruit directly for summer internships and permanent positions. More than 7,000 students have been placed since the programme began, in fields ranging from science and engineering to law, policy, and communications.

Who It Helps

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a documented disability, and graduates within one year of completing their degree, who are seeking to launch or advance a career in the federal government.
